What Goes Wrong in a Sewer Line

Around here it's usually tree roots hunting for water, decades of grease, flushable wipes that never break down, or older lines that have sagged or cracked. The camera shows us which one it is.

Sewage in the house? Keep people and pets away from it, don't run any water, and call the 24/7 line now. Backups get worse with every flush upstream.

Clear It or Replace It

Grease and roots can be cleared. A collapsed or bellied line needs repair, and we show you the footage before talking about it. Clearing gets water flowing today. Fixing the cause pays off on some lines and not on others. We give you a price for each and tell you why.

"Joe done an excellent job clearing a 150feet sewer line He's the best"

When the Line Has to Come Up

The line between your house and the main gets replaced when the camera shows it's collapsed, bellied, or broken by roots beyond clearing. A licensed operator digs the trench on our backhoe. We bed the pipe, lay it and check it before any dirt goes back. Most of these jobs get inspected before we cover the pipe, and we lay it to pass.

On a slope the sewer line still has to keep its fall, which changes how we lay it. We have buried utilities marked through Missouri's 811 service before we dig.

What Moves the Price

What the Camera FindsGrease and roots can be cleared. A collapsed or bellied line needs repair.
Length and Depth of the RunA long, deep lateral takes more time and moves a lot more dirt than a short, shallow one.
What's in the WayRock, mature tree roots, driveways, and landscaping all change how we dig.
Slope and Surface RepairA hill lot can mean more digging to hold the grade. We tell you up front what your yard will look like after we backfill.

Typical Ranges Around Springfield

Exterior sewer line to the street$3,500 to $5,000
Interior sewer line replacement$2,500 to $5,000
These are typical local ranges. They're wide on purpose. Access, depth, rock, slope and what turns up in the ground all move the number. Joe prices your exact job before any work starts.

Common Questions

How do I know the line actually needs replacing?
We run a camera and show you the footage before discussing digging. If clearing the line will fix it, Joe will tell you so.
Do I need a camera inspection?
Not always, and Joe will tell you when you don't need one. It's worth it for repeat clogs in the same line, when you're buying a house, or when someone says the line needs replacing. You see the footage before you pay for any repair.
Will my yard be destroyed?
You'll have a trench in the yard while we work. Before we start, we show you how much ground it'll disturb and tell you what yard repair is on you and what's on us. We backfill it neatly when we're done.
Do you handle the permits and inspection?
Yes. Underground work gets inspected before it's covered, and we handle that process as part of the job. It's your proof the work was right while it could still be seen.
We're on septic. Do you work on that?
Yes. A lot of homes around Strafford, Rogersville, and Fair Grove are on septic. When those houses have drain trouble, we look at the whole system, including the tank and drain field. More on drain, sewer and septic.
