Well pressure acting up? Start with the tank.

Well Pressure Tank, Pressure Switch & Well Control Repair in Springfield, MO

Sputtering faucets, pressure that comes and goes, or a pump kicking on and off usually mean the pressure tank or the switch. That costs far less to fix than a pump, so Joe puts a gauge on the system before he recommends a repair.

Signs It's the Tank or the Switch

  • Faucets that sputter or spit air.
  • Pressure that surges, then drops off.
  • A pump that kicks on and off every time water runs.
  • Weak pressure at every tap in the house.

No water at all, with the breaker on, points at the pump or its controls instead. That's on the well work page.

We Check Before We Replace

A pressure switch, a tank and a submersible pump are very different jobs. Joe puts a gauge on it before he recommends a repair, because the tank fix costs a fraction of the pump job. We find the part that failed first, so you don't pay for the wrong job.

Low Water Pressure From a Well

If every tap in the house runs weak, it's usually the well system: the pressure tank or switch, a clogged filter, a leak in the line between the well house and your home, or a pump that's wearing out. Text a photo of the pressure tank and its gauge, and Joe will tell you what he sees.

Controls and Wiring

If the wellhouse wiring is old or improvised, we fix it while we're there so the new parts last. A buried line that's leaking is a different job, and we dig and replace those ourselves. More on wellhouses and well lines.

What Moves the Price

What Actually FailedA switch, a tank and a pump are very different jobs. We find the part that failed first.
Controls and WiringOld or improvised wiring gets fixed while we're there, so the new parts last.
AccessA tight wellhouse takes longer to work in than an open one.
Well Depth and Pump TypeIf the pump has to come out too, the depth of the well affects that job more than anything else.
Joe gives you the price before any work starts. Text a photo of the tank and the gauge, and he can often tell you what you're looking at before he comes out.

Common Questions

How do I know if it's the pump or the pressure tank?
Rough rule: water that surges, sputters, or cycles on and off too often points at the tank or switch. No water at all with the breaker on points at the pump or its controls. Joe puts a gauge on it before recommending a repair, because the tank fix costs a fraction of the pump job.
No water at all. What do I check first?
Check the breaker for the well pump, usually in the main panel and sometimes in the wellhouse itself. If it tripped, reset it once. If it trips again, stop and call: something is making it trip, and forcing it can cook a pump that might have been saved. Then call (417) 987-8740, day or night.
Do you work on the well itself or just the house plumbing?
Everything from the well casing to your taps: the pump, controls, pressure tank, wellhouse plumbing, and the buried line to the house. One licensed shop does all of it, digging included.
Can you come at night?
No water is urgent. The 24/7 line takes calls and texts day or night, and Joe or one of his expert plumbers answers.

“I was without water for 4 days. I called this man, not even 24 hours ago, literally not 24 hours ago. He scheduled me an appointment was here done exactly what he said he was going to do and he done it with precision. He didn't cut any corners or try to rig anything up.”
