Water softeners for hard Ozarks water.

Water Softener Installation in Springfield, MO

Ozarks water runs through limestone and comes out hard. Joe tests your water, then installs a softener where the line comes in, so scale stops building up in your water heater and on your fixtures.

Signs Your Water Is Hard

  • White crust on faucets and shower heads.
  • Spots on glasses and dishes after they dry.
  • Soap and shampoo that won't lather.
  • A water heater that pops and rumbles. That's sediment from hard water settling in the tank. Here's why it happens.

The Ozarks sit on limestone, and water that runs through limestone picks up minerals. The full picture is in our hard water guide.

We Test Your Water First

Joe tests your water before he recommends equipment. City water in Springfield and a well in Fair Grove need different treatment, and the test shows what yours needs. You buy the equipment that fixes your water, and nothing you don't need.

What We Install

We install 30,000 grain water softeners from A. O. Smith and Sterling. The softener goes where the water line enters the house, so the water heater, the fixtures and the appliances all get softened water.

Joe is a licensed master plumber. He ties the softener into your plumbing and its drain line the right way, so it won't be the next leak in the house.

A Softener or Reverse Osmosis

A softener takes the hardness out of the water for the whole house. It doesn't filter your drinking water. Reverse osmosis at the kitchen sink does that. Joe looks at your water and tells you whether you need a softener, RO or both.

What Moves the Price

Your WaterWhat the test finds sets the equipment. Well water can carry more minerals than city water.
Where It GoesThe softener needs room near where the line enters the house and a drain close by.
The Plumbing There NowA main line that's hard to reach, or old pipe at the tie-in, takes more work.
UpkeepA softener uses salt. We tell you how often to add it before you buy.

Common Questions

How do I know if my water is hard?
Crust on the faucets and spots on the glasses are the usual signs. Joe tests the water to know for sure. Our hard water guide covers the rest.
Do you install softeners on well water?
Yes. Well water around here can carry more minerals, so Joe tests it before he picks the equipment. Lots of properties around Strafford and Rogersville run on wells.
Will a softener help my water heater?
Yes. Hard water leaves sediment in the tank, and that's what wears out water heaters here. Softened water cuts it down.
Will a softener make my water better to drink?
No. A softener treats hardness. For drinking water, a reverse osmosis system at the kitchen sink is the fix.

From our water treatment calls

“Came out within the week and assessed what I needed done. Next day came back and installed a new water softener/filtration system. Gave a good price on labor and for the system and was a upstanding guy. Super timely and decent prices. I'll be going back to him for my plumbing needs.”
